Why PETG is the Best Material for Car Interiors
August 16, 20263 min
When it comes to 3D printing car parts, choosing the right material is critical. The temperature inside a car cabin during summer can reach 60-70°C, making standard PLA plastic unsuitable (it begins to deform at around 50°C).
This is where PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) comes into play.
Why PETG?
- Temperature Resistance: PETG can withstand heat up to 80-85°C without losing its shape.
- Impact Resistance: It is more flexible and less brittle than PLA or standard ABS.
- Chemical Resistance: PETG is resistant to most automotive cleaners and polishes.
At FixPlast, we use high-quality PETG to print caps, holders, buttons, and other interior elements, ensuring their longevity.
